Intense and very eclectic, this is “The Wake of the Dragon,” the new single from singer, songwriter, and actress Keisha Sounds , a well-rounded artist who, dressed in originality and talent, seeks to make a name for herself in the world of music.

“The Wake of the Dragon” is the first single from their latest album, A Journey Into Self , and it's anything but predictable. Although it begins with a pop atmosphere tinged with electronic touches that gently invite the listener in, it's only 30 seconds in before an unexpected, high-pitched scream—typical of heavy metal—erupts with force and completely transforms the direction of the song. The result is a bold, surprising blend of genres.

“The first single, 'The Wake of the Dragon,' delves into a journey we all must take: a journey of self-realization, a path to enlightenment,” Keisha says, adding that several unfortunate events forced her to rethink life from the deepest perspective.

The track, which fuses elements of R&B, rock and EDM (Electronic Dance Music), doesn't slow down its intensity for a single second, and when it seems that everything is going to calm down after the high-pitched scream, an electronic beat together with distorted and overlapping vocals add more and more layers of texture to a song that has gone all in, without holding anything back.

Keisha had already won over a devoted group of fans with her album “A Journey Into Sound” (2017), a much more pop and RnB offering, in which she also used her personal history and experience to compose songs full of stories and vulnerability, but with more traditional sounds.

“The Wake of the Dragon” is undoubtedly a testament to the singer's evolution over nearly a decade, during which she has continued to compose songs that expand her diverse catalog.

Keisha Sounds isn't an improvised singer. From a very young age, she was closely connected to rhythms and sounds thanks to her father, an accomplished musician who played alongside artists such as Johnny Nash and Bob Marley. Throughout her journey in the music world, Keisha has released multiple singles such as "Love PTSD," "Demons," and "Rocketship," which have been widely acclaimed on digital platforms.
